First, be sure to follow the speed limit, even if it feels unnecessarily slow - the police are quick to pull over speeders and may even ask for a bribe.


Second, the roads can be a bit rough with lots of majorly huge potholes and bumps, so watch out and try to avoid them if possible.


Third, keep an eye out for pedestrians - on the Panamerican Highway, many locals rely on walking or the bus to get around, so be mindful of crosswalks and people crossing the road.


And finally, be prepared for some traffic, especially near Panama City where construction can cause massive delays. It, but it can be a challenge!
